Agility is Key to the Future of Wireless!
The Wireless Innovation Laboratory (WI Lab) was founded in August 2007 by Professor Alexander M. Wyglinski in order to advance our understanding of technologies and algorithms that can help improve society's usage of radio frequency spectrum for a wide range of wireless applications. WI Lab is located in Room AK318 on the third floor of the Atwater Kent Laboratories building at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, USA.

- August 3, 2008: We have relocated to Room AK318 on the Third Floor of Atwater Kent Laboratories!

May 22, 2008 : Professor Wyglinski was awarded a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) supplement from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for his project entitled "NeTS-WN: Quantification of Spectrum Availability for Wireless Network Access". The supplement will be used to support the participation of undergraduate students Ms. Robyn Colopy and Mr. Alexander Camilo on this NSF project during Summer 2008. - March 14, 2008: Mr. Bharatwajan Raman successfully defended his MS thesis, entitled "Synthetic Storm Modeling for Millimeter Wave Mesh Networks", at The University of Kansas. Congratulations, Bharat!
- March 14, 2008: Mr. Vinaykumar Muralidharan successfully defended his MS thesis, entitled "A Unified End-to-End Communication Paradigm for Heterogeneous Networks", at The University of Kansas. Congratulations, Vinay!

- November 19, 2007: Mr. Srikanth Pagadarai has safely arrived in Worcester to commence his Ph.D. studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering under the guidance of Professor Wyglinski. Welcome to WPI, Srikanth!

November 14, 2007 : Dr. John Chapin, CTO of Vanu, Inc. and a visiting scientist at MIT, gave a presentation entitled "Software Radio: A Broad Change in RF Communications Systems Design" at the Fall 2007 WPI ECE Distinguished Speaker Graduate Seminar. In the afternoon, Dr. Chapin visited the Wireless Innovation Laboratory and spoke with lab members about their current research activities. 
- October 18, 2007: We have relocated across the hallway to Room AK207A!
- October 16, 2007: Check out our first demo using the USRP units: [WMV Format], [MOV Format].
- September 24, 2007: The USRP units have arrived! Now we can start programming those radios!
